The danger within: the what, when and why of perioperative antimicrobial therapy
Thursday 24th November 15.35 -16.35
The aim of this lecture is to rationalise perioperative antibiotic use and to review all aspects of aseptic technique. A real life example of a hospital acquired infection outbreak will be used to illustrate how perioperative antibiotic therapy cannot be separated from appropriate aseptic technique and infection control measures.
