Manual ventilation of the anaesthetised patient - why and how for the veterinary nurse

The ruptured diaphragm is the most commonly encountered patient who CANNOT breathe during surgery. We will review the anaesthetic management of these cases. We will then consider how the techniques of manual ventilation can be applied to many commonly encountered anaesthesia situations for the benefit of the nurse and patient.
