Win an Adventure Trip to Goa

Pick up your 'Holiday Passport' and collect stamps at this year's event, to be in with a chance to win a 2 Week Adventure Trip to Goa with WVS!

'Holiday passports' are available to everyone when you arrive at the event and contain a whole host of discount coupons from exhibitors. If you collect all the stamps from the exhibitors listed and bring your passport back to the WVS Stand by 4pm on the 17th November, you'll be in with a chance to win!

Here’s what you could win:

Week 1

Pic1The first week of your Goa Adventure will commence assisting the WVS team based at their new International Training Centre in the area of Bardez.

In August 2016 WVS launched the ‘Hicks ITC’. This new training centre is providing best practice surgical techniques to local vets, while also running an on-going neutering and vaccination campaign in the state of Goa. With a particular focus on dog and cat populations the project is having a massive positive impact for both the animals and local population in the area.

Their all-terrain, 6-wheel drive, mobile veterinary truck is also based in Goa for 6 months each year and if your trip coincides with this, you will have the opportunity to be part of their outreach veterinary clinics. The truck is fully equipped with veterinary surgery, digital x-ray, lab facilities and modern teaching aids, so a real additional to theirwork in the area.

Your accommodation during this period will be in the luxurious Novotel Shrem Hotel which is about a 20 minute drive from the Hicks ITC.  Return transport will be provided to the Hicks ITC each day.

Week 2

Pic2For your second week you will head to Olaulim just 11 kms from Panjim, the capital of Goa and 8kms from Mapusa, here you will be staying at Olaulim Backyard where you can experience the other side of Goa, being away from the hustle and bustle of the coastal touristic belt, but at the same time, not too far from the beaches, just a half an hour drive and you reach the famous Baga and Calangute beaches.

Olaulim Backyard is surrounded by fields, rivers, and tiny hillocks. During your 5 night stay you can embark on a variety of activities onsite including canoeing/kayaking, bird watching, nature walks, cycling or fishing.   Based from this relaxing retreat they can also arrange for you to embark on a couple of other activities ranging from scuba diving, pottery classes, white water rafting or the opportunity to see how spices are grown, incorporating a visit to a spice plantation where lunch will be served the traditional way.

Your final 2 nights will be spent at the Cidade De Goa Hotel 10 minutes from Panjim. Awarded the Certificate of Excellence in 2016, this sprawling 40 acre haven, is nestled along a tranquil beach. Cidade de Goa brings to mind a quaint Portuguese village with its intimate alcoves, overhanging balcaos and vibrant murals reminiscent of a bygone era – an architectural style that earned international acclaim for its architect, Charles Correa.  Here you are free to relax at your leisure, enjoy the stunning coastal scenery or simply enjoy a cocktail or two from your sun lounger before embarking on your return flight.

The companion animal stream will again be programmed by Jill Maddison from the RVC. Each year the country’s leading speakers educate on the conditions affecting your practice.

Programmed by the RVC Equine and the BVA in partnership with BEVA, enables the mixed practitioner to learn new skills and knowledge to take back to their practice and use in their day to day work.

The BVA farm stream is aimed at the general practitioner, particularly those in mixed practice who may not be treating farm animals exclusively.

The business programme brings together the leading thinkers in the industry to discuss the processes, models and principles that can take your practice to the next level.

BVA Congress

Proud to host: BVA Congress is the major event in the veterinary political calendar bringing veterinary surgeons together to debate and discuss the hot topics of the day.

BVA Career Development

The BVA Career Development stream is now open to all delegates. The sessions will provide personal and professional development for all career stages.
