The role of the neuro exam in a high tech world - is it really worth the bother?

Surely, if it looks like a duck, sounds like a duck, and walks like a duck, it must be a duck.  Not necessarily so.  Results of a neurological examination will direct clinicians to the appropriate selection of diagnostic tests rather than to a blind ordering of a battery of tests and a hope that an answer will be forthcoming.
