Simon Girling

Simon graduated from Glasgow Veterinary School in 1994. He gained his RCVS Certificate in Zoological Medicine in 1999 and his Diploma in 2002. He has been an RCVS Recognised Specialist in Zoo and Wildlife Medicine since 2003 and has worked in a number of first opinion and referral exotic pet and zoo practices since that time.

He currently runs a first opinion and referral practice in Perth, Scotland, with his wife and is also the Head of Veterinary Services to the Royal Zoological Society of Scotland based at Edinburgh Zoo. Simon has acted as examiner and chief examiner for the RCVS Diploma in Zoological Medicine for the last 6 years and is also an Honorary Senior Lecturer in Exotic Pet, Zoo and Wildlife Medicine to Glasgow University’s School of Veterinary Medicine.
